How to Help Someone Who Is Depressed or Suicidal. A Therapist in Long Beach Answers Questions After Chris Cornell’s Suicide
In this video I answer questions I have gotten since Chris Cornell and Robin Williams have chosen to end their lives. The most important thing to remember is to get professional help. Even if the person who you are concerned with won’t go to get professional help, you can still go to a professional to get help to learn ways to help and support them. You can call me at 562-310-9741 if you have questions or want to set up an appointment. Since I am not available on an emergency basis, I would also encourage you to call the National Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273-8255. If you call the hotline, there is someone who will answer the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, even on holidays. I would like to stress that helping someone is different than fixing someone. If you would like to learn how to help someone with depression or someone who is thinking about suicide, please watch the video below to learn more.
