How does online therapy work?
I get this question a lot from new clients who are interested in online therapy, but not sure how it works.
Online therapy is pretty simple.
- You set up your appointment with your therapist.
- Your therapist sends you a link to meet (on Zoom, Google Meetings, etc).
- You click on the link at the time of your appointment
- Make sure to click “enable camera and microphone” or “allow cameral and microphone.
- Start your session.
If you have questions, you can always ask questions when you book your appointment.
- Is the price the same for online therapy vs. in-person therapy?
- What program do you use for therapy?
- Do I need to download anything before our appointment?
- How can I reach you if I cannot connect during our appointment time?
- For couples therapy, is it okay for my partner and I to be in a different location?
